A sweet and zesty cookie recipe perfect for Valentine's Day, featuring orange rind and juice, topped with an icing made from icing sugar, milk, and red food coloring, and finished with cinnamon hearts.
1. Cream together margarine and sugar. Add the egg and mix. Add orange rind, juice, salt, cinnamon, and baking powder. Mix together.
2. Fold in flour. When it gets too tough to mix, knead the rest in. Wrap in wax paper and let chill for an hour in the fridge or overnight.
3. Roll out dough and cut into hearts. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 6-8 minutes. Make icing by combining icing sugar, food colouring, and a little bit of milk. Top with cinnamon hearts or any other topping you desire. Enjoy!
